REI Garage Sale Shakedown – August 2018.

Sorry to brag, but I believe I am becoming an REI Garage Sale master. My family and I attend them whenever possible, often camping out 24 hours in advance to claim the #1 spot. It really isn’t necessary to show up THAT early, but it is fun! Today I found great deals on a few items, and learned a new Garage Sale trick!

Things to do: Learning at The Foundery

To say that I ambitious is an understatement.  I want to learn how to do everything.  I want to make all the things.  I have endless ideas and overflowing, bottled-up creativity.  I also have limited time and even more limited resources.  What’s a girl to do?  Throw on a pair of boots and head to The Foundery, a Baltimore “maker’s space” offering industrial tool use, workshops, classes, and materials to the average person, like me! 2nd Annual Baltimore Floatilla – raising awareness for a healthy harbor

The 2nd Annual Baltimore Floatilla is happening on June 10, 2017.  Tickets and registration are now available on the Baltimore Floatilla’s website.  The event is a 5 mile paddle along the waterfront, gathering mid way in the heart of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, where we will raise our signs and our voices in support of clean water and a healthy harbor in Baltimore.  Check out my post detailing my experiences at the 2016 Baltimore Floatilla, as well as my short YouTube video covering last year’s event.  I hope to see you there!  Clean it up, Hon!

KLX110 Dirt Bike

Baltimore’s Dirt Bike Dilemma

Baltimore has a reputation when it comes to dirt bikes, and it is not a good one.  There are self-proclaimed gangs and urban bike clubs, such as the infamous 12 O’Clock Boys, that take to the streets in mass numbers, riding in and out of traffic, popping  wheelies down the busy downtown streets.  Their recklessness and showboating often put themselves and other motorists at risk, and they have dared law enforcement to do something about it.  Well, they have… Baltimore Police have recently organized a new task force to tackle the dirt bike “problem” in Baltimore, and have zero tolerance for illegal riding.  I don’t condone riding through the streets like an asshole, but as a new dirt bike rider myself, I have come to understand at least part of the problem.  There is nowhere to ride legally, anywhere near Baltimore.   (more…)

Service Dog kissing Disney's Goofy

Disney with a Service Dog (Universal Studios, too!)

Last month we surprised our son with his first trip to Disney World.  We carefully planned the trip for the week of Halloween, hoping to enjoy the special festivities, including Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, while avoiding the summertime crowds and heat.  This was also our first visit to a theme park with Tyler, my husband’s service dog.
