The holidays have come and gone, and spring will be fast approaching. Though there is still snow in the forecast, and ice on the waterways, paddlers are warming up their training routine just in time for the 2nd Annual Bay Bridge Paddle!! The race will take place on April 29, 2017 at Sandy Point Beach in Annapolis, MD. More information and sign up on PaddleGuru or the race’s website. I came across a paddling challenge that was organized by Julia Nicholls, where paddlers are challenged to complete either 100 hours, or 100 miles of paddling within 100 consecutive days. (more…)
This past Saturday (June 11th) was the 1st Annual Baltimore Floatilla for a Healthy Harbor. The event’s mission is to raise awareness of the need to clean up Baltimore’s harbor, which is currently plagued by pollution, garbage, and sewage. (more…)
Float Fest 2016 was a paddle board race that took place on June 4th at Fager’s Island, in Ocean City, Maryland. In previous years the event was called Surf Swap, however, this year the event included a fun post-race party where people enjoyed the sunny weather, music, great food, and drinks while floating around the warm bayside waters in fun, inflatable pool floats – hence the name change to Float Fest.
